Account & Data Deletion
This page applies only to the hummOut app (the activity-discovery app described on this website). Individual hummOut products — such as PanchVeda, hummPrep, and Jaap108 — are separate apps with their own privacy policies and, where relevant, their own account deletion instructions.
Status
The hummOut app is currently under development and is not yet publicly available. This page is published in advance so that account and data deletion instructions are ready before launch, and will be kept up to date as the app is released.
How to request deletion
Once the hummOut app is live, you will be able to delete your account directly from within the app:
- Open the hummOut app and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion request when prompted.
If you're unable to use the in-app option — for example, because you no longer have the app installed, or you signed up before this feature became available — you can request deletion here instead:
Email rosh4yt@gmail.com with the subject line "hummOut Account Deletion Request" from the email address or phone number associated with your account, so we can verify the request.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal information associated with it, which may include:
- Your profile information (such as name, photo, and interests);
- Activities and plans you created, joined, or interacted with;
- Messages, comments, and preferences tied to your account;
- Any identity verification documents you submitted (government ID photos and selfies), and their review records; and
- Any location data stored against your account for activity discovery.
What may be retained
Some information may be retained for a limited period after deletion where reasonably necessary, such as:
- Records required to comply with legal, tax, or regulatory obligations;
- Information needed to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident;
- A one-way cryptographic hash tied to your account, retained only if your account was suspended at the time of deletion, solely to prevent creating a new account to evade that suspension — this hash cannot be reversed to identify you and is not linked to any other retained data; and
- Aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you.
Retained information is kept only as long as necessary for these purposes and is not used to reconstruct your deleted profile or activity history.
Processing time
Account deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation once your account and associated personal data have been deleted.
