Privacy Policy

PanchVeda is provided by Roshan Kumar, an independent developer operating under the name hummOut (referred to as “hummOut,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the PanchVeda Android application (the “App”).

PanchVeda does not require an account and does not operate an application backend that receives your birth profiles, matchmaking details, astrological inputs, or generated reports. Most App data is processed and stored locally on your device. Certain third-party services process limited advertising, technical, consent, and purchase information as described below.

1. Information You Provide or Allow the App to Access

Birth details, names, profiles, and matchmaking information

You may enter names, dates and times of birth, birth locations, gender, and related profile or matchmaking information. This information is used to generate Panchang, Kundli, chart, matchmaking, dosha, muhurta, vrat, and PDF results. It is processed on your device and, when you choose to save it, stored in the App's private local storage. hummOut does not receive this information. All calculations happen on-device using Swiss Ephemeris; no birth data is sent to Astrodienst.

This can include another person's details, such as a partner you compare in Matchmaking or read the day for in Your Jodi. Please enter someone else's details only with their consent. Your Jodi's pair and its trial dates are also kept only on your device, and the weekly notification never names the partner.

Location

If you grant location permission, the App may access your approximate device coordinates to determine your current location for calculations. The App may save the most recently used coordinates, altitude, and timezone locally for convenience and offline fallback. Location used for astrological calculations is not sent to hummOut, Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, or RevenueCat by PanchVeda.

You can decline or revoke location permission through Android settings and use manual location selection where available.

Preferences and local activity

The App stores settings such as language, theme, ayanamsha, chart style, compact mode, notification preferences, daily free-use counters, and paid entitlement cache locally using app-private files or Android shared preferences. Saved matches and profiles also remain local.

PDFs and sharing

PDF reports are generated locally. If you choose to share or save a report, Android and the destination app or service you select will handle that file under their own privacy terms. PanchVeda does not automatically upload PDFs.

Backup files

You can export a backup file containing your saved profiles (names, birth dates, times and places) and saved matches. The file is created on your device and handed to the Android share sheet; PanchVeda does not upload it. Wherever you send or store it (email, chat, cloud drive) handles it under its own terms, and the file is not encrypted. Restoring a backup replaces the profiles and matches on the device after you confirm. PanchVeda deletes its temporary copy once sharing finishes.

Usage statistics and crash reports

If you allow it, the App sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to help us see which features are used and to fix problems. This includes:

• which screens and features are used (for example "Kundli calculated" or "PDF exported"), with a short fixed label such as the language chosen or the plan bought;
• general settings such as language, theme, whether reminders are on, Pro status, and the number of saved profiles as a range (0, 1, 2-3, 4+);
• crash and error details (the stack trace, app version, device model and Android version);
• an app-instance identifier created by Firebase, and the approximate country Firebase derives from your connection.

It never includes names, birth dates, times or places, saved profiles or matches, chart results, readings, verdicts, your location or chosen city, or any text you type. The advertising ID is not collected for analytics, and this data is not used for ad personalisation.

You control this with Settings → Privacy Policy → Share anonymous usage statistics, which covers both usage statistics and crash reports. Where consent is required (the EEA and the UK), it is off until you turn it on; elsewhere it is on until you turn it off. Turning it off stops collection straight away. Delete all my data also resets the analytics identifier. Firebase keeps this data for 14 months.

2. Local Notifications

PanchVeda may request permission to display locally scheduled Panchang notifications. Notification preferences and schedules are stored on your device. The App may use Android's boot-completed capability to restore local notification schedules after a restart. PanchVeda does not use a hummOut push notification server and does not collect a push-notification token.

You can disable notifications through the App or Android settings.

3. Advertising and Consent

The free experience may display banner and rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob. Depending on your region, consent choices, and device settings, Google may process information such as:

• IP address and general location derived from it;
• advertising identifiers and other device identifiers;
• device, operating-system, app, and ad-interaction information;
• diagnostic, fraud-prevention, and advertising-performance data; and
• consent choices communicated through Google's User Messaging Platform.

Where required, the App presents Google's consent message before requesting ads. You may review or change available consent choices through the App's privacy settings. You can also manage advertising controls through Android and your Google account.

Paid access removes ads while the RevenueCat pro entitlement is active. Third-party services may retain information collected before paid access was activated according to their own policies.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Google Play, and subscription entitlements are managed through RevenueCat. PanchVeda does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details.

Google Play and RevenueCat may process information necessary to complete and validate purchases, including:

• an anonymous RevenueCat App User ID;
• product, base-plan, transaction, purchase-token, and receipt information;
• purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund, and expiration status;
• entitlement and restoration information; and
• limited app, device, network, IP-address, diagnostic, and fraud-prevention information required to provide their services.

Your names, birth details, saved profiles, matches, charts, and PDFs are not provided to Google Play or RevenueCat by PanchVeda. Their processing is governed by their respective policies:

5. Permissions

Depending on your Android version and the features you use, PanchVeda may request or use:

• Approximate location: optional current-location detection for calculations, offered once when the App is first opened and from the location button afterwards.
• Notifications: display locally scheduled reminders.
• Receive boot completed: restore local notification schedules after device restart.
• Internet access: load advertisements, obtain consent status, retrieve Google Play/RevenueCat offerings and prices, process purchases, restore entitlements, verify subscription status, and send anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (when enabled).

The App does not use internet access to upload your birth profiles, matchmaking data, or generated astrological results to hummOut.

6. How Information Is Used

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:

• provide calculations, saved profiles, preferences, PDFs, and notifications;
• display and measure ads subject to applicable consent choices;
• offer, process, restore, and verify paid access;
• prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid advertising or purchase activity;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• maintain the security and operation of the App and third-party services.

Where consent is required for advertising, PanchVeda requests it through Google's User Messaging Platform and permits you to revisit the available privacy choices. Limited processing may also be necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or delivery of non-personalised advertising where permitted by applicable law. Purchase processing is necessary to complete and administer the transaction you request. Optional location access is based on your device permission and your request to use current-location features.

Android permission and consent prompts provide additional, feature-specific notice at the point of collection. This Policy is the general notice covering the App as a whole.

7. Sharing and Sale of Information

hummOut does not sell or rent your birth details, names, profiles, matches, location history, or astrological results. PanchVeda does not share that local content with advertising or purchase providers.

Limited information is processed by Google AdMob, Google's User Messaging Platform, Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics, only if you allow usage statistics), Google Play, and RevenueCat for the purposes described in this Policy. Depending on the service and processing activity, a provider may act as a service provider or processor for hummOut, or as an independent organisation with its own legal responsibilities. hummOut remains responsible to the extent required by applicable law and does not use a third-party provider to avoid its own obligations. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, necessary to protect legal rights or safety, or involved in a lawful transfer of the App's operations, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

8. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Local profiles, matches, settings, locations, counters, and generated data remain on your device until you delete them through available App controls, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Android cloud backup is disabled for PanchVeda's app data.

Settings → Backup & Restore → Delete all my data removes, after you confirm, every saved profile and saved match (including the App's internal backup copies), all scheduled reminders, and all settings from the device. The App then starts as if newly installed. Records of purchases and the daily free-use counters are kept, because a subscription belongs to your Google Play account. The Your Jodi trial record is also kept, so deleting your data does not restart the trial. Backup files you previously exported are outside the App and are not affected.

Local files are stored in the App's private storage area but are not separately encrypted by PanchVeda. Device-level security, encryption, backups outside the App's control, rooted devices, and any files you intentionally export or share may affect confidentiality.

Google, RevenueCat, and other user-selected services retain information under their own policies and legal obligations. Purchase records may need to be kept for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance even after access ends.

For a privacy request concerning information processed through RevenueCat or another service on our behalf, contact us using the address below. We may ask for a RevenueCat anonymous App User ID, Google Play order reference, or other information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant record. We cannot delete records controlled exclusively by Google or another independent service provider, but we will direct you to the appropriate provider where applicable.

9. International Processing

Google and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the transfer is to be handled using the provider's legally recognised transfer mechanisms, contractual protections, or other permitted safeguards. Details of the mechanisms used by those providers are available in their privacy and data transfer documentation linked above.

PanchVeda is operated from India. Users outside India should understand that limited advertising and purchase information may be processed in India, the United States, or other locations used by Google and RevenueCat, subject to applicable law.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or information about certain personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent or to complain to an applicable data-protection authority.

Where EU or UK data-protection rules apply, these rights may also include data portability and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Where an applicable US state privacy law covers hummOut, you may also have rights such as confirmation, access, correction, deletion, or an appeal concerning a privacy request. hummOut does not discriminate against a user for exercising a legally protected privacy right. Some regional laws apply only after statutory business, revenue, or processing thresholds are met; this section does not claim that every listed law applies in every case.

You can directly control much of PanchVeda's processing by:

• not saving optional profiles or matches;
• deleting individual profiles or matches, or using Delete all my data in Settings;
• turning off Share anonymous usage statistics in Settings;
• revoking location or notification permission in Android settings;
• changing available advertising privacy choices;
• clearing App storage or uninstalling the App; and
• cancelling subscriptions through Google Play.

To exercise a right involving data accessible to hummOut, contact us using the email below with the subject “PanchVeda Privacy Request.” Rights may be limited by applicable law and our ability to identify an anonymous record. We may ask for limited information reasonably necessary to verify and locate the record. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may raise a grievance through the same contact before approaching an authority or forum available under applicable law.

11. Age Requirement

PanchVeda is intended only for users aged 18 years or older. It is not directed to children, and hummOut does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information through a third-party service used by the App, contact us.

12. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the App's local-first design, but no device, software, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security over your device, Google account, exported files, and device unlock credentials.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, third-party services, law, or our practices. The date at the top will be updated when the Policy changes. Material changes will be communicated through the App, store listing, or website where reasonably appropriate. Continued use after an updated Policy becomes effective is subject to applicable law.

Please use the subject “PanchVeda Privacy Request” or “PanchVeda Grievance” and include enough information to understand the request without sending unnecessary birth data or identity documents. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and resolve them within one month, or within any different period required by applicable law. When India's substantive Digital Personal Data Protection grievance provisions become applicable, eligible individuals may approach the Data Protection Board of India after first using this internal grievance process.
