Privacy Policy

Jaap108 is provided by Roshan Kumar, an independent developer operating under the name hummOut (referred to as "hummOut," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Jaap108 Android application (the "App").

Jaap108 does not require an account and does not operate an application backend that receives your name, mantra selection, counting history, or streak data. Most App data is processed and stored locally on your device. Certain third-party services process limited advertising, technical, and purchase information as described below.

1. Information You Provide or the App Stores Locally

Name and mantra selection

During onboarding you may optionally enter a display name and select a mantra (jaap) from the built-in list, or choose to use the App without selecting one. This information is stored only in the App's local, private storage on your device using Android shared preferences. hummOut does not receive this information.

Counting activity, streaks, and preferences

The App stores your selected count target, chosen theme, language, today's count, lifetime count, completion count, and daily practice streak locally on your device. This data is used only to display your practice history within the App and is never transmitted to hummOut.

Reminder notifications (optional)

If you enable the optional daily reminder in Settings, the App schedules a local notification using your device's notification system. This requires the Notifications permission and, to survive a device restart, the "receive boot completed" permission. No push-notification server is used, and no reminder data is sent to hummOut or any third party — the schedule lives entirely on your device and is removed if you disable the reminder or uninstall the App.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free experience may display banner advertisements, and an optional rewarded advertisement to temporarily trial a premium mala theme, through Google AdMob. Depending on your region, consent choices, and device settings, Google may process information such as:

• IP address and general location derived from it;
• advertising identifiers and other device identifiers;
• device, operating-system, app, and ad-interaction information;
• diagnostic, fraud-prevention, and advertising-performance data; and
• consent choices communicated through Google's User Messaging Platform.

Where required, the App presents Google's consent message before requesting ads. You may review or change available consent choices through the App's privacy settings. You can also manage advertising controls through Android and your Google account.

Purchasing an ad-removal option (see Section 3) stops banner and rewarded ads from loading. Google's privacy information is available at: policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/ads

3. Purchases

Jaap108 offers optional, one-time purchases — removing ads, unlocking a premium theme pack, or an "ultimate" bundle covering both — processed entirely through Google Play Billing. These are non-consumable purchases (bought once and owned permanently), not subscriptions. Jaap108 does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details.

Google Play may process information necessary to complete and validate purchases, including product and transaction identifiers, purchase and refund status, and limited fraud-prevention information required to provide its services. Your name, mantra selections, and counting history are not shared with Google Play as part of a purchase. Their processing is governed by: Google Privacy Policy and Google Play Terms.

4. Permissions

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): only used to display the optional daily practice reminder you enable in Settings.
• Receive boot completed: restores your scheduled reminder after a device restart, only if you had one already scheduled.
• Internet access: load advertisements, obtain consent status, and process Google Play purchases.

The App does not use internet access to upload your name, mantra selection, counting history, or streak data to hummOut.

5. How Information Is Used

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:

• display your counting history, streaks, and preferences within the App;
• deliver the optional daily reminder you choose to enable;
• display and measure ads subject to applicable consent choices;
• offer, process, and restore one-time purchases;
• prevent fraud and invalid advertising or purchase activity; and
• maintain the security and operation of the App and third-party services.

6. Sharing of Information

hummOut does not sell or rent your name, mantra selections, counting history, or streak data. Jaap108 does not share that local content with advertising or purchase providers. Limited information is processed by Google AdMob, Google's User Messaging Platform, and Google Play for the purposes described in this Policy. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights or safety.

7. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Your name, mantra selection, counts, streaks, theme, and language preference remain on your device until you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App. Jaap108 has no backend server, so there is no remote copy of this data to separately delete. Google Play retains purchase records under its own policies and applicable legal obligations, independent of the App.

8. Children

Jaap108 is a general-audience wellness and mindfulness utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the App's local-first design, but no device, software, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security over your device and Google account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, third-party services, law, or our practices. The date at the top will be updated when the Policy changes. Continued use after an updated Policy becomes effective is subject to applicable law.
